The Wayside is the narrowest belt we make, at 1.2" — handmade from a single 4mm-thick piece of vegetable-tanned leather, finished with a solid brass buckle.

The buckle removes with a screw for adjusting or swapping, and a punch tool ships with the belt.

Slim without feeling flimsy — a smaller silhouette that still holds its shape.

Specs

  • Material: Full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather (single piece, 4mm thick, handmade)
  • Width: 1.2" (3.0cm)
  • Buckle: Solid brass, removable (screw-fastened, not riveted)
  • Includes: Punch tool for custom hole adjustment

Why It's Built to Last

  • Single 4mm-thick piece of vegetable-tanned leather — no bonded layers to peel or delaminate
  • Handmade construction means each belt is finished by hand, not stamped out
  • Solid brass buckle is screw-fastened, not riveted — replaceable if it ever wears out
  • Ships with a punch tool so your fit stays precise for years, not just on day one

Built For

Slimmer belt loops and a lighter overall look — good for anyone who finds a 1.5" strap too much bulk under a shirt or blazer.

Full-Grain Leather vs. Other "Leather" Belts
Saddlebelt Full-Grain Other "Leather" Belts
Grain Strength ✓ Single piece, full-grain hide Bonded scraps, reduced fiber strength
Patina Over Time ✓ Develops a rich patina with wear Coating cracks or peels instead
Withstands Daily Wear ✓ No peeling, cracking, or delamination Often fails within months
Buckle ✓ Solid brass, screw-fastened & replaceable Riveted, can't be replaced if it fails
Price ✓ Costs less over time than replacing a cheap belt every year Cheap up front, but you'll buy it again and again
Sizing — Please Read Before Ordering

This belt is sold by waist range, not a single fixed length — each size covers a 2-inch span (for example, size 29"-30" fits waists measuring 29 to 30 inches). Every belt ships with a punch tool, so you can trim the tip and add a new hole to fine-tune the fit within your range.

Note: This belt runs on a different size range than most of our styles — Waist 29"-30" through 41"-42" — so please check the size chart on this page before ordering rather than assuming the standard range.

How to Adjust Your Belt Length

Each belt comes with a punch tool, so you can easily remove the buckle and adjust the length to fit your waist perfectly.

Step-by-step photos showing how to remove the buckle, trim the belt, punch a new hole, and reattach the buckle
  1. Remove the screw and take off the buckle.
  2. Slide off the tip keeper loop to expose the leather underneath.
  3. Cut off the excess length from the tip end.
  4. Use the punch tool to add a new hole where needed.
  5. Reattach the buckle with the screw and tighten — done.
Care Instructions
  • Wipe down with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to remove dust and surface oils.
  • Every 2 to 3 months, work in a small amount of natural leather balm with a clean cloth, let it absorb for a few minutes, then buff off any excess.
  • If the belt gets wet, blot it dry and let it air-dry away from direct heat — never use a hairdryer or radiator, which can shrink the leather.
  • Some color variation and darkening over time is normal — vegetable-tanned leather is meant to develop a patina, not stay showroom-new.
