The Ranchhand — Adjustable Slider Buckle Belt 1.5"
A fixed pin only gives you as many fit options as there are holes. The Ranchhand uses a sliding brass buckle instead — loosen the small screw, slide it along the strap, and land on the exact fit between holes, not just the closest one.
Underneath the mechanism it's the same single 4mm-thick piece of full-grain leather as the rest of the line, and the buckle itself is fully removable.
Minimalist on the outside, a little smarter underneath.

Full-Grain Leather vs. Other "Leather" Belts
| Saddlebelt Full-Grain | Other "Leather" Belts | |
|---|---|---|
| Grain Strength | ✓ Single piece, full-grain hide | Bonded scraps, reduced fiber strength |
| Patina Over Time | ✓ Develops a rich patina with wear | Coating cracks or peels instead |
| Withstands Daily Wear | ✓ No peeling, cracking, or delamination | Often fails within months |
| Buckle | ✓ Solid brass, sliding adjustable & removable | Riveted, can't be replaced if it fails |
| Price | ✓ Costs less over time than replacing a cheap belt every year | Cheap up front, but you'll buy it again and again |
Sizing — Please Read Before Ordering
This belt is sold by waist range, not a single fixed length — each size covers a 2-inch span (for example, size 33"-34" fits waists measuring 33 to 34 inches). The sliding buckle lets you fine-tune within that range beyond the punched holes alone; every belt also ships with a punch tool for adding new holes if needed.
For general belt-sizing help (measuring an existing belt, jeans-size conversion), see our Belt Sizing Guide — note that this product uses the waist-range system above rather than the fixed-length method described there.
How to Adjust Your Belt Length
Loosen the small screw on the slider buckle to adjust incrementally, or remove the buckle entirely with the included punch tool to trim the strap and add a new hole.
- Loosen the screw on the slider to reposition the buckle for fine adjustment.
- For a bigger change, remove the screw and take off the buckle entirely.
- Cut off the excess length from the tip end if needed.
- Use the punch tool to add a new hole where needed.
- Reattach the buckle with the screw and tighten — done.
Care Instructions
- Wipe down with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to remove dust and surface oils.
- Every 2 to 3 months, work in a small amount of natural leather balm with a clean cloth, let it absorb for a few minutes, then buff off any excess.
- If the belt gets wet, blot it dry and let it air-dry away from direct heat — never use a hairdryer or radiator, which can shrink the leather.
- Some color variation and darkening over time is normal — full-grain leather is meant to develop a patina, not stay showroom-new.
