The Quarry — Coarse Grain Heavy Duty Belt 1.5"
Run a finger over The Quarry and you'll feel it before you see it — a coarse, uneven grain left mostly as nature made it, on top of a single 5mm-thick piece of vegetable-tanned leather.
The solid brass buckle comes off with a screw, and a punch tool is included for getting the fit right.
Not polished, not smoothed over — the texture is the point, and the thickness underneath backs it up.
Specs

- Width: 1.5" (3.8cm)
- Buckle: Solid brass, removable (screw-fastened, not riveted)

Why It's Built to Last
- Single 5mm-thick piece of vegetable-tanned leather — noticeably heavier than our standard 4mm belts
- Coarse grain surface resists showing scuffs the way a smooth finish would
- Solid brass buckle is screw-fastened, not riveted — replaceable if it ever wears out
- Ships with a punch tool so your fit stays precise for years, not just on day one
Built For
Work boots and jeans that see real use — a belt that's meant to pick up wear, not hide from it.
Full-Grain Leather vs. Other "Leather" Belts
| Saddlebelt Full-Grain | Other "Leather" Belts | |
|---|---|---|
| Grain Strength | ✓ Single piece, full-grain hide | Bonded scraps, reduced fiber strength |
| Patina Over Time | ✓ Develops a rich patina with wear | Coating cracks or peels instead |
| Withstands Daily Wear | ✓ No peeling, cracking, or delamination | Often fails within months |
| Buckle | ✓ Solid brass, screw-fastened & replaceable | Riveted, can't be replaced if it fails |
| Price | ✓ Costs less over time than replacing a cheap belt every year | Cheap up front, but you'll buy it again and again |
Sizing — Please Read Before Ordering
This belt is sold by waist range, not a single fixed length — each size covers a 2-inch span (for example, size 33"-34" fits waists measuring 33 to 34 inches). Every belt ships with a punch tool, so you can trim the tip and add a new hole to fine-tune the fit within your range. The 5mm leather runs stiffer than our standard belts until it breaks in.
For general belt-sizing help (measuring an existing belt, jeans-size conversion), see our Belt Sizing Guide — note that this product uses the waist-range system above rather than the fixed-length method described there.
How to Adjust Your Belt Length
Each belt comes with a punch tool, so you can easily remove the buckle and adjust the length to fit your waist perfectly.
- Remove the screw and take off the buckle.
- Slide off the tip keeper loop to expose the leather underneath.
- Cut off the excess length from the tip end.
- Use the punch tool to add a new hole where needed.
- Reattach the buckle with the screw and tighten — done.
Care Instructions
- Wipe down with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to remove dust and surface oils.
- Every 2 to 3 months, work in a small amount of natural leather balm with a clean cloth, let it absorb for a few minutes, then buff off any excess — the coarse grain can take a bit more conditioner than a smooth finish.
- If the belt gets wet, blot it dry and let it air-dry away from direct heat — never use a hairdryer or radiator, which can shrink the leather.
- Some color variation and darkening over time is normal — full-grain leather is meant to develop a patina, not stay showroom-new.
