The Compass — Braided Belt 1.2"
The Compass is hand-braided from a single piece of full-grain leather and finished with a solid brass buckle that's fixed in place — no screws, no removable parts, just one clean piece built to hold up to daily wear.
Unisex sizing, cut to fit comfortably on both men and women.
The braid flexes with movement instead of creasing at one spot the way a flat strap does.

Why It's Built to Last
- Hand-braided from a single piece of vegetable-tanned leather — no bonded layers to peel or delaminate
- Solid brass buckle is securely fixed, so there's nothing to work loose over time
- The braided construction flexes with wear instead of cracking at a single fold point
- Full-grain leather ages into a richer patina instead of cracking or flaking
Built For
A simple, no-fuss everyday belt for jeans or casual trousers — works for anyone, no adjustment or setup required.
Full-Grain Leather vs. Other "Leather" Belts
| Saddlebelt Full-Grain | Other "Leather" Belts | |
|---|---|---|
| Grain Strength | ✓ Single piece, full-grain hide | Bonded scraps, reduced fiber strength |
| Patina Over Time | ✓ Develops a rich patina with wear | Coating cracks or peels instead |
| Withstands Daily Wear | ✓ No peeling, cracking, or delamination | Often fails within months |
| Buckle | ✓ Solid brass, securely fixed in place | Thin plated metal, prone to tarnishing |
| Price | ✓ Costs less over time than replacing a cheap belt every year | Cheap up front, but you'll buy it again and again |
Sizing — Please Read Before Ordering
This belt is available in two waist ranges: 33"-34" and 35"-36". Unlike our other belts, The Compass has a fixed brass buckle and pre-set holes along the braided body — there's no punch tool and no buckle to remove, so simply choose the size that matches your waist.
Care Instructions
- Wipe down with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to remove dust and surface oils.
- Every 2 to 3 months, work in a small amount of natural leather balm with a clean cloth, let it absorb for a few minutes, then buff off any excess.
- If the belt gets wet, blot it dry and let it air-dry away from direct heat — never use a hairdryer or radiator, which can shrink the leather.
- Some color variation and darkening over time is normal — full-grain leather is meant to develop a patina, not stay showroom-new.
